J.W. Winco, Inc. New Berlin, WI

When J.W. Winco, Inc. decided to expand its world headquarters in New Berlin, they turned to Creative to provide the solution. Through extensive programming, Creative helped the client clearly define its needs for conferencing, break areas, training, work stations and private offices.

As a way to introduce clients and vendors to the corporate identity of the company, the design of the new two-story lobby incorporated view, volume and texture with the corporate colors and the very materials manufactured by the client. Design components also featured soaring ceiling height, an expanse of windows and polished tile flooring that plays off a slate signage wall. A custom-built reception desk juxtaposes refined wood finishes with industrial cabling and metal fins influenced by industrial gears. To ensure the comfort of clients during all-day meetings, a large, high-tech board room was created with an adjoining lounge for breakout discussions.

When the new facility was completed, employees moved into the addition while renovations of the existing office began the following month. Renovation of the existing structure included a complete transformation of space that formerly served as private offices and work areas into a new secure IT department, kitchen and cafe/training center.
